We stumbled across Dionne when looking for a photographer for our wedding. Immediately we loved Dionne's work as it was exactly the kind of style we were looking for. We had a call with Dionne to discuss and without hesitation we booked her straight away. She totally understood the vibe we were going for and above all, she made us feel like we had known her for years.
We told Dionne we wanted to create a Vogue themed pre-shoot in Manchester to celebrate the city where we first met. We think Dionne was as excited about the brief as we were. Not only did we have the best day shooting in a luxurious hotel, we came away with the most incredible black and white photography we could ever wish for. Later along came our special day. We could not wait to have Dionne capture every special moment in her beautiful, unique style. Think less staged group shots, and more arty images perfectly mixed with a stunning collection of candid photos.

Dionne Fernyhough photography took the photos for our wedding Day. We wanted to get married quickly and we actually planned our wedding day in about eight weeks. Having seen Dionne take the photos for a friend's wedding, we knew she was the photographer for us. From the get go she was extremely friendly and professional. She rang us to discuss the details of our day and plan a pre-wedding shoot - something that we weren't expecting due to the time limit until our big day. The pre-shoot allowed us the chance to really get to know Dionne and she made us feel very comfortable.
We were thrilled with the venue (Grangefields) that we found last minute and Dionne captured it beautifully. On the day of the wedding, she arrived early to take photos of the venue decor before the guests arrived and she stayed late until the night to get some amazing photos of the fire pits and sparklers. We loved her style of taking a mix of candid and posed shots. She was also amazing at honouring requests from guests who wanted photos taken in groups.

Our pre-wedding photoshoot was so useful, as we weren't very confident in front of the camera and were a little anxious about having posed photos taken of just the two of us. During that session Dionne made us feel so comfortable and confident that it didn't really feel like posing at all - we just had fun! It was also so lovely to get to know her before the day and talk through any last minute plans in person.
On the wedding day itself, Dionne and her second shooter arrived in exactly the right places at exactly the right times which helped our wedding morning to progress really smoothly. They both captured some really special moments for us while we got ready at Rachel's parents' house and with Richard and his party at the church. Rachel's dad mentioned how touched he was that he saw Dionne wiping a tear away during the service - a testament to how much she loves her job and cares for her couples! Dionne and her second shooter were both subtle and respectful in the way they photographed the service - never in the way or obvious but still managing to get some really wonderful photos.
The photos Dionne captured during the reception really remind us of the love and joy we felt on the day - we can't help but smile when we see them, they are so precious to us. Some of the photos we love most are the ones at the end of the evening in the fields, when all the important bits were done and Dionne took us for a short walk so we could have some time away and get some relaxed photos together. Having had our pre-wedding shoot we didn't even have to think about it - Dionne gave us some directions but we were so comfortable and we definitely see this reflected in the photos.
Another thing we found very special was how understanding and patient she was with our little bridesmaids, who were too excited to stand still and also wanted to look at every photo of themselves as soon as possible! Dionne really knows which parts of the day are important to capture and she has such an eye for special, candid moments. Dionne is so lovely and easy going and will not fail to make you feel as comfortable as possible even if you aren't normally one for posing. We would not hesitate to recommend Dionne to friends and family (and we have - we will be seeing her at our friends' wedding soon!) and we are so unbelievably grateful for the gift Dionne has given us in capturing our wedding day and our friends and family so perfectly!

We booked Dionne for our wedding after a glowing review from my cousin whose wedding she had photographed a few years earlier. I have to say, she didn’t disappoint us at all!
Due my dad passing away 3 weeks before the wedding, Dionne’s kind and flexible approach to the wedding date changing was so appreciated. We changed venues, times and even ended up spreading our celebrations over two days - all of which Dionne made so easy and never made us feel like we were being troublesome to her. She really did go above and beyond for us.
She also did an engagement photo shoot in a little woodland near our house and it made us feel so much more relaxed on the wedding day. (Neither of us are particularly comfortable in front of a camera.)
